Meet the Davidian's

Davidian Events Icon, a hand holding a wine glass

At Davidian Events, we believe a wedding is never just about logistics, it's about people. The laughter of friends, the quiet reassurance before walking down the aisle, the joy of two families coming together. We see ourselves as your support system: steady hands, calm voices, and your biggest cheerleaders from "yes" to "I do".

Our planning style is elegant and fun. Classy, but never stiff. Detailed, but never overwhelming. Always centred around connection, joy, and the magic of celebrating together.

With us, you're not just getting wedding planners. You're gaining sisters who care deeply, plan beautifully, and will be there for you every step of the way.

I've always been drawn to the excitement of gathering people together. Growing up, I remember the long tables filled with plates of pilaf, slabs of salmon on the barbecue, glasses of wine being raised in laughter...it was the feeling of togetherness that stuck with me the most. That sense of warmth and celebration became my calling.

Before starting Davidian Events, I spent years working at Blue Mountain Village, where our team hosted an events or festival every weekend of the year. My time there taught me how to bring organization, creativity, and community together seamlessly.

When I'm not planning, you'll usually find me cooking (and eating) with the music turned up too loud, cracking open a cold beer, or spending time with the family & friends that I love. Giving back is at the heart of who I am - I've hosted events and donated to over 10 charities in the last decade, and supporting animal shelters and community organizations will always be important to me.

Araxi

My experience in hospitality started in university, when working in restaurants was a way to earn money, meet people, and make friends. I loved the social side of it all and I quickly realized how much joy comes from connecting with people over food, atmosphere and laughter.

Some of my earliest memories of entertaining are from home: lighting candles around the house to prepare for guests, music floating through the air (like Santana's Oye Como Va) and our mom sweeping with a broom-turned-limbo-stick as we cleaned and prepared for visitors. Those nights taught me that a great event isn't just about what's on the table, it's about the energy that you create for people walking through that door.

As a planner, I'm calm, warm and thoughtful - a natural problem solver, some might say. I like the hustle and bustle of a wedding day, the endless moving pieces, and the satisfaction of checking things off a list as we go. I feel most proud when I see a couple glowing, completely worry-free, and in the moment.

Outside of weddings, you'll find me with a good fantasy book, skiing, swimming in the bay, hiking with my dog, or baking (butter is guilty pleasure).

How it all started

The Georgian Bay Social

Over drinks at Penny's Motel & Après, Sydney shared her love for hosting charitable events, a passion she’d set aside after moving to Blue Mountain and through the pandemic. Encouraged by friends (including another Sydney, Araxi, and Carly), she took the leap back into event planning, starting with the Georgian Bay Social, a post-COVID networking event with a purpose. Since then, we’ve hosted fundraisers for causes like the Georgian Triangle Humane Society, The Butterfly Project, and My Friend's House, raising $4,494.00 for our community. What began as a dream has grown into Davidian Events, where we combine purpose, connection, and joy in every gathering.
