Embracing Community: The Birth of Georgian Bay Social

In the cozy atmosphere of Penny's Motel & Après, a heartfelt conversation sparked a new journey. I (Sydney) reminisced about my love for hosting charitable events, a passion I'd set aside after relocating to Blue Mountain and navigating the challenges of the pandemic.

Encouraged by friends—another Sydney from Partii Designs, Araxi (my sis), and Carly from Barriston Law—I decided to dive back into event planning. Together, we created the Georgian Bay Social, a networking event designed to connect local business people while giving back to the community.

Our first event raised funds for the Georgian Triangle Humane Society at Grey & Gold Cider, followed by support for Collingwood Youth Centre Butterfly Project at the Alphorn, and a Clothing Swap at Power Yoga Canada, Collingwood benefiting My Friend's House. Over time, our efforts have accumulated $4,494 for local charities.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, we are committed to continuing our support for the community. We believe in the power of collaboration and are excited to plan more events that uplift local causes.
